How do you all feel about the stimulus package? Shocked

Im not sure what I think about it,do you think its helpful or not?

IMHO, I think that it's going to help tons of people (me included, lol) but the question will be what sort of affect does that give us for next year's taxes???

I think they said they would be mailed out sometime in May, but they didn't ever give an exact date. I would expect close to the middle or end of the month.

A few people in my area have publicly pledged to donate thier entire stimulus check to the schools to help combat the education crisis happening here in CA. I may take a portion of mine and do the same, but not the entire check...

Well that is neat!! So if we originally had our refund direct deposited, then they will automatically direct deposit the stimulus refund? That makes me feel a little better!! Thanks for posting that link Tara!

I just can't see how these checks are going to stimulate the economy, most people that I have talked to are just going to pay off bills that they have fallen behind on. I have a heating bill from winter that I need to pay, so there goes a big chunk of my check.

Yea I see your point on that one...hubby and I are banking ours as soon as it gets here,not really sure what we are going to do at this point.Most of my friends are using it to pay off bills.Mine gets mailed in June Smile

I have not paid my student loans in quite a few months... Sad

but we are going to just keep the money in the bank and TRY to leave it alone. We spent half our refund already (although, shhhh, DH doesn't know exactly how much "we" spent) Embarassed
