Today, as I was driving home from picking the kids up at school, I passed by the gas station.

Regular unleaded is now $4.22 per gallon!!

I can remember when it used to take only $15 to fill a tank of gas (of course it depended on the car itself as well). My SIL said it took $40 at $4.19/gal to fill up my 2001 Susuki on Tuesday.

That is crazy. Gas is pretty high here now too. I can't tell you in gallons how much it is but can in litres. We are all metric here and I can't get the hang of it at all. Our gas is $1.27 a litre. I am not even sure how to convert that into imperial. I just know its a lot.

That's about what gas is here to in Washington state- however, the good news is that Oil prices are dropping- Hopefully that will bring the gas prices down. Your gas in Canada, Darlene - would be $5.08 per gallon- a litre is a little over a quart. That's pretty pricey.

Rosalee, thanks. That is about right for our gas. If I get $20 in gas I get about a quarter of a tank where before that would have given me almost three quarters. Its ridiculous anyhow and its supposed to go even higher by summer. They say we will be paying up to $1.50 a litre.
Hubby and I have been practicing up on walking the last two days. LOL

I have heard that there is an investigation going on, officials are looking into Enron again about gas prices being so high.

The prices are just ridiculous! I know what you mean about being able to fill up a few years back for $15. That is what my car used to take at a fill up. Another thing that totally blows my mind is the price of diesel. Diesel is a by product of gas, so why is it more?

The thing is that Diesel doesn't fluctuate like gas does- it pretty much stays the same here.

There's a gas station that I passed yesterday in the next town over and it was $4.39/gal!!

The gas prices are so high because the darn oil companies are greedy. That's the whole of it. They just want more money!!

The good news is- that Oil per barrel prices are down quite a bit, hopefully that will help bring the gas prices back down, hence the food prices down to. We can all hope.

What is happening that the price has to jump $.11 in one day???

Yesterday the gas station was at $4.22 and today it's at $4.33!!! :(

It's greed I tell ya- Greed!! (half kidding on that one)
Actually it's probably just the regulation of gas prices with other gas stations in the area. I used to work at a gas station and managers were always comparing prices at other stations- to stay competitive. I'll be mighty happy to hear when the prices get back to normal. Wouldn't it be great!!
