Ok It dont have a name but it is soething we do alot.
When I make any meat dish I save the left over meat. Then freeze it. When DH is working nights. (When I do it most) I take out one of the cooked meats and thaw and I always have a bag of mixed veggies on hand
Dice a handful or so of veggies toss in a frying pan with a little butter, saute for a minute or two then add about 1/4th cup of water cover, Start rice or noodles, after a few minutes add the meat to the veggies to warm up.
With Rice I usually add some seasonings and some soy sauce and mix. With noodles a can of diced tomatos and seasonings, or tomato sauce seasonings, just what ever I have on hand that sounds good. sometimes I top with cheese or bread crumbs.
The kids actually enjoy chicken and steaks the second time around, I have tried just cooking it for this toss it together meal but its not the same. and its one way I have found to get them to eat brockli with no complaints since its small they cant really tell :)
Sometimes I take the meat and veggies and add it to Rice a roni or noodle roni. |
